If you have an iPhone, you probably use it to watch YouTube videos all the time.
When you’re on the go, it can be annoying not to be able to download videos to your device so that you can watch them later without internet access.
Luckily, there are plenty of ways to download them on your smartphone.
This article will give you an overview of the top 4 ways to download YouTube videos on your iPhone or iPad.
Watch this video, where I explain the same:
Use a reputable YouTube downloader app
Several apps allow you to download YouTube videos directly to your iPhone.
Many of them are free and have their own unique set of features.
One that I use is “Video Saver”.
It is a nifty little app with robust features such as a pass lock to open, a dedicated browser, a file manager and more.
You can also download videos from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other video sources.
However, the free version of Video Saver comes with ads and download limits.
So if you plan on downloading several videos, you must get the paid version, which may cost you around $2.44.
Use the built-in screen recorder
Screen Record is a built-in feature of the iPhone that allows you to record your screen with sound.
To use it, open Control Center and tap the Screen Record button.
Note: If it’s not there, you can goto to Settings > Control Center and add Screen Recording from the list.
Then, go to YouTube and play the video you want to download.
When you’re finished, tap the Screen Record button again in Control Center.
The video will be saved to your Photos app.
Note: If you want to record your video’s sound and not the external sound, turn Microphone off in the control centre when recording.
Use a web-based YouTube downloader service
There are also a number of web-based services that allow you to download YouTube videos directly to your iPhone.
All you need is the URL of the video you want to download.
Here are 3 of my favourites youtube video downloading sites:
Savefrom.net
y2mate.com
freemake.com/how_to/youtube_download_manager
Use a jailbreak tweak
A jailbreak tweak is a modification you can make to your iPhone that allows you to do things that are impossible with a stock device.
One of the things you can do with a jailbreak tweak is download YouTube videos to your iPhone.
A jailbreak app called “DownloadAll” lets you save videos as they play in Safari.
It even has an option for downloading videos from multiple pages simultaneously!
You can also use other apps such as iFile or FilzaEscaped to access the video files and save them onto your device without going through Safari.
Jailbreaking is the least preferred method as it violates Apple’s rules and may open your device up to potential security issues.
It is best used as a last resort if none of the other methods works for you.
Conclusion
In conclusion, there are a variety of ways that you can download YouTube videos onto your iPhone.
By using any of them, you can save your favourite videos to watch offline or later.
Plus, some apps and sites have other features like converting video files into different formats or downloading only the audio from a video.
