The Apple world is brimming with hot updates. Apple announced support for third party device tracking in their latest iOS14.5 update. Meanwhile there are rumours of the biggest yet iMac to arrive in 2021. And the regular Samsung’s marketing tactics against Apple are up too.

With WatchOS 7.4 and (14.5 on iPhone) you can easily unlock your iPhones without removing your face mask. To Unlock iPhone with Apple Watch. Both, the Apple Watch and iPhone, need to run the latest operating systems, and must be password protected. 

To activate the feature on your iPhone; toggle the option under Face ID and password under settings. Do make sure your Apple Watch is unlocked, and is on your wrist. 

You may need to enter the password, but just once. After that, a simple swipe upwards would unlock your iPhone having Face ID. 

Apple announced tracking support for third-party devices with its Find My app

Apple recently announced “Find My network” accessories tracking program. An update to the Apple devices’ tracking “Find My” app which will allow tracking of third party devices. 

You can find the new item tab in the updated Find My app on devices running iOS 14.3 and later, iPadOS 14.3 and later, and macOS Big Sur 11.1 or later.  

Currently, the companies collaborating with Apple’s Find My Network accessory program are Belkin, Chipolo and Vanmoof e-bikes.  

Supported devices include: “The Soundform Freedom True Wireless Earbuds from Belkin, the Chipolo One Spot item finder from Chipolo item tracker, and the VanMoof S3 and X3 e-bikes from VanMoof. 

Apple also announced that third-party devices can take advantage of Apple devices like iPhones that have Ultra-wideband support. The U1 chip enables precise position tracking with directional guides so you know the exact spot of your item. 

“For more than a decade, our customers have relied on ‌Find My‌ to locate their missing or stolen Apple devices, all while protecting their privacy,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “Now we’re bringing the powerful finding capabilities of ‌Find My‌, one of our most popular services, to more people with the ‌Find My‌ network accessory program. We’re thrilled to see how Belkin, Chipolo, and VanMoof are utilizing this technology, and can’t wait to see what other partners create.”

The news of Apple AirTags is floating around for two years and still there’s no official direction known of Apple’s item tracker’s announcement.

Bigger 27+ iMac

A prolific leaker l0vetodream claims that Apple may introduce their largest iMac to date. The screen size is unclear, but leaker’s tweet says that the ‌iMac‌’s screen is really big, bigger than the biggest one. (FYI the biggest screen size is 27″)

The news isn’t surprising as there are widespread rumours about Apple creating an iMac like the Apple Pro XDR display which has thinner bezels around the display, a flat back, no metal chin and the biggest size offering of 32″ Retina 6k display. 

Rumours also suggest the new iMac will offer colour options like the iPad Air. 

The bigger iMac would also need more power which Apple’s new ARM chip that is rumoured to include in the latest iMac can easily handle. 

Samsung’s iTest

Samsung continues to create campaigns to help them convert Apple customers into Samsung customers through ads. Although this time the approach is different with the iTest app. 

Samsung’s iTest app allows iPhone users to install a web app to experience a simulated version of Android on a Samsung device.

This will allow you to interact with rudimentary apps like galaxy store, themes, and access messages, and phone, and even make simulated phone calls. Though the campaign is targeted at New Zealand users, anyone can use it.
